Happy post-post-Independence Day, dear readers!
Today, Adam and I are off on an adventure from our vacation outpost in upstate New York’s Thousand Islands to Kingston, Ontario…we hear tell it’s a “cute village with pubs, some history and decent shopping.” I’m pocketing our passports, just in case we get stopped by boat at the border.
After writing about Western Canada these past few weeks, it’ll be a refreshing change to write about Eastern Canada. After all, we’re nothing if not thorough.
We’ve got one more night here in the Thousand Islands — surely with a full moon spilling a white swath ‘cross the wide St. Lawrence, maybe bringing another thunderstorm with fully horizontal lightning — and then tomorrow we leave for a night of glamour and excitement of hotel livin’ by the Syracuse Airport.
Early Wednesday morning (and we do mean early), we’re off to Montego Bay, Jamaica, bound for nearby Ocho Rios. We’ve been invited to explore the newly renovated Couples Tower Isle and sister resort Couples San Souci…which, in a stroke of cross-promotional genius for us, have the word “couples” right in their names.
We’ve never stayed at an all-inclusive couples’ resort, so this will be a whole new world for us. And speaking of new worlds, we haven’t been to Jamaica, either. So when we return next week, we’ll have a lot to share with you.
Stay tuned, and have a wonderful week…wherever you happen to be.

Cool to have found you via Twitter! I lived in Kingston for a couple of years while attending university—make sure you get out to visit Gananoque just down the road. It’s a beautiful place! Anyway, just wanted to say hello. We’ve added your blog to our blogroll and have picked up your RSS! Looking forward to reading more!
