The popular travel blog TripBase has started a tag-you’re-it game across the travel blogosphere.  The goal is to collect an amazing list of across-the-globe travel secrets from as many travel bloggers as humanly possible.  Someday soon, this list will be a Creative Commons roundup that I’ll be sure to share with you!
I’ve been tagged by two of my favorite travel bloggers, Sheila of GoVisitHawaii and Isabelle of Isabelle’s Travel Guide to contribute my own best kept travel secrets.
So, here we go:

We live in California and love it dearly. Â
We’re based in Los Angeles, but gravitate repeatedly to the gorgeous center of the state.
With both sets of Adam’s parents in Northern California,
we happily find ourselves there at least three times a year.Â
California is almost a country unto itself, and full of adventures.
Here are some resources to help you plan your own “travels with two” to California.

Some of you may remember that Adam and I love ourselves a weird house.  Well, Cambria, on the Central California Coast, has one of the weirdest we’ve ever seen.
It’s called Nitt Witt Ridge…and it just might inspire you not to throw your trash away.
A Weekend of Wine in Paso Robles

We hadn’t been to our favorite California wine region, Paso Robles, in over a year…and so it was time.
In the past year, there’s been an explosion of new wineries in this valley (a climate similar to France’s Cotes du Rhône), with more on the way.  We just spent a blissful weekend trying some of what’s new in the area…as well as what’s simply new to us.
We can’t make it back for the Wine for Water benefit on Saturday, August 22 at the Park Ballroom, but might just shoot for the Harvest Wine Weekend, October 16-18.
Between now and late Fall, it’s a great time to get yourselves to Paso.
A Dog-Friendly Stay by the Cambria Shore

We just returned from a short but restful weekend away with Adam’s mom and stepdad…and our beloved corgi, Toby, in tow.
We made our home at the very dog-friendly Cambria Shores Inn on Moonstone Beach in Cambria, California, perched beside a meandering boardwalk and the roiling Pacific.  We got great suggestions for outdoor dining, ran pell-mell on a wide swath of blustery beach, and reconnected with our itinerant loved ones. Â
Added bonus to this weekend? Â No need for yet another dog sitter. Â
