The Caribbean, between Belize City and Ambergris Caye
Just back from the Belize Tourism Board’s first sponsored travel bloggers’ trip!
With a pool of incredible photos due to trickle in throughout this week, I’m choosing to wait to share all my thoughts with you on this gorgeous, wild country until I can really show you what I found in the jungles, on the rivers, and by the sea.
But to whet your travel appetites, here are a few of my favorite photos from my week in Belize!

Garifuna band at the Inn at Robert's Grove, Placencia; the Garifuna are a distinct Belizean culture, originally from West Africa

Public bus on the Hummingbird Highway

The Cayo District jungle, from atop Xunantunich's pyramid

Fisherman throwing out his net off the coast of Placencia

San Pedro produce stand; Fife bananas, Belize's greatest export, are unavailable in the U.S.

Early morning on Ambergris Caye

You’re welcome, Lisa! For such a small country, there are about a dozen different versions of Belize — I’ll be writing about many of them next week.
Gorgeous shots, Melanie! I’m so sad I missed it! Ah, Belize…
Well, you might have missed Belize, but I missed you!
GOR-geous !! My favorite is that fisherman throwing the net. What a Kodak moment, how fabulous that you “caught” it on film
Thanks for bringing me right back to each place above. I’ll never tire of looking at all of our photos for sure…
Kerrin, this is high praise coming from you! Now, back to Belize, anyone? Anyone?
Beautiful shots. Have to go with the fisherman as a favorite too especially since I didn’t get that shot
