My 7 Links

My 7 Links Having recently celebrated three years with this here blog, I’ve lately been feeling introspective about being a frequent traveler, a sometimes-disconnected wife, friend and daughter…and an often-conflicted workaholic. I’ve especially been thinking a great deal about writing, and how it’s deeply important to me to create something useful, lasting and emotionally engaging.

Excellent timing, then, that I’ve been tagged by two traveling couples, Dave and Deb of The Planet D and Akila and Patrick of The Road Forks to participate in the “My 7 Links” project from Tripbase. Once you’re tagged, you offer up seven links from your own blog that fit various categories — from an article that you believe to be your best to one that you feel is your most underappreciated.

So, here’s what I have to show for the last three years, in a multi-link nutshell. Let’s do this. [Read more...]

Travels With Two on Women’s Radio Network’s “The Gathering Road”

Ever wanted to know why I started this blog, the places that Adam and I love to travel most, and our funniest travel mishaps? Well, look no further.

I was recently interviewed by Elaine Masters, writer of the travel blog Trip Wellness (which aims to keep you healthy no matter where or how you go) for “The Gathering Road,” her show on the Women’s Radio Network. A Travel Blogger’s State of the Union – 2010

Sure, none of them for long enough, but as my wise father points out, two days is a woefully short amount of time to bond with as many folks as you’re likely to meet in four full years of high school.

Throughout the weekend, I learned a bit about improving my blog and a lot about my travel blogging people’s concerns, back-stories, insecurities and triumphs. In my own version of a State of the Union (because when you think Obama, you automatically think of Travels With Two in the same neuron-fire) here’s what I’d like to share with you: [Read more...]

As of today, I’ve been writing Travels With Two for two years…which is pretty amazing, considering this was supposed to be my bridge project between getting rejected from a lot of art galleries and trying to find something new to create.

It now appears that I’ve created a travel resource with hundreds of posts, a path to a new career and a worldwide community of workaholics/travel enthusiasts.

Oh, and a funny little crick in my neck from hunching over my laptop for hours on end.  But whatever.
