But where to go? And how to travel in a spirit of both romance and exploration?
Travels With Two is a guide to those places we (and many other couples) have been and loved, in the hope that you’ll be inspired to do the same.
Here you’ll find travel advice geared specifically towards couples who know how exactly how much vacation time they have every year, and plan to use it. Maybe you both secretly long to wander endlessly, but for now you have responsibilities back home.
The Travels With Two couple is looking to unplug from work, broaden their world and reconnect with each other over good food, great wine and, well…a comfortable bed.
But who are we, you ask?
I’m Melanie Waldman, and my husband is Adam. We’re both in our late 30s, happily married, and have lived together in Los Angeles, California for the last 16 years.
I do the writing here at Travels With Two, but I’m also an artist, creating dioramas and paintings with socio-political themes.
Adam owns an entertainment advertising company, which keeps him busy an average of 60 hours a week.
We have a house, a garden, a dog and a large circle of friends. Our families are spread out amongst the east and west coasts of the U.S., and we visit (and travel with) them as often as we can.
In short, it can be complicated for us to get away together. So, we prioritize it in small chunks of the future, like teeth cleanings and tire rotations…except with more joy.
Sometimes our trips take us across town and sometimes across the world, but they’re always driven by a desire to reconnect and have new experiences that become part of our story.
We hope Travels With Two inspires you to travel near and far…together.
