You Better Belize It…I’m Off!

Thanks to the Belize Tourism Board, all next week I’ll be off on a travel bloggers’ trip to this by-all-accounts amazing Central American country!
Belize’s greatest claims to fame are Mayan temples and the Western Hemisphere’s longest coral reef. It’s snuggled into the eastern, Caribbean coast of Central America, spooning southeastern Mexico and northeastern Guatemala.
It’s my first trip to Belize, so I’m thrilled that the itinerary will have me running pell-mell around the country, stalking jaguars, snorkeling with shark rays, scaling pyramids, cave tubing, and zip-lining across a rainforest!
This is a sans hubby adventure…and in fact, more of a “Travels With Five.”
I’m fortunate to be adventuring with an amazing group of writers:
Kara Williams of The Vacation Gals. Based in the Colorado Rockies with her husband and two young kids, Kara is a blogger and freelancer who shares warm, funny accounts of her mostly North American family vacations and the (all too-) occasional romantic getaway. A woman whose advice you can trust, she knows hotels, spas and beat-up campers, inside and out.
Kerrin Rousset of My Kugelhopf. An American now living in Zürich, Switzerland with her French husband, Kerrin is passionate about almost everything. Photography, travel and sugary treats, though, rise to the top of the list. If you’ve ever looked at a cake or a seaside vista with lust in your heart, this is the blog for you.
Christine Gilbert of Almost Fearless. Having left behind a management gig at a Fortune 500 company to become a full-time freelance writer and digital nomad, Christine and her husband could at any one time be just about anywhere. If it’s your dream to cut ties with your 9-5 (or 8 am-midnight) job and follow your bliss across the Earth, Christine can both inspire you and show you how to do it.
Gennaro Salamone of Enduring Wanderlust. Based in New York City, Gennaro’s posts focus on history, the environment and spirituality, and his photographic journeys and travel advice will help you really see Romania, Peru, Cambodia, India, Laos, the U.S. and more. Not content to blog alone, he has regular guest bloggers who expand his reach (and that of his readers’) across the globe.
Please consider following the journey on Twitter at @travelswithtwo and the hashtag #Belizetrip.
I’ll also be updating my brand spankin’ new Travels With Two Facebook page from the road –
please become a fan and follow along!
And while I’m gone, please check out:
If you’ve been to Belize yourself, please feel free to share your favorite experiences!

Please don’t tell everybody about Belize. Keep it a secret so it won’t get over-run.
When in Belize–be prepared for very rough side roads. Four wheel drive vehicles are useful especially if headed toward the Guatemalan border and Cahal Pech.
Glasater, thanks very much for the tip!
Cheryl, I promise not to tell everyone about Belize…just everyone who reads this blog.
Have a great time. We loved Belize and would go back in a heart beat. I can’t wait to hear all about it.
I am SO excited that your last post was about Belize. My husband and I will be honeymooning there this Spring and it has been great to read about all of the fabulous adventures that await us! Can’t wait to see more pics
Alesha, please click on my Flickr badge way up top to see more photos from the bloggers’ trip! More posts to come to inspire your Belizean trip with your husband…
What a great initiative by the Belize Tourism Board to sponsor your visit. I’d love to see more of these innovative marketing ideas across Central America.
